Teachers portal - updated security
The Board has been working on a two-factor authentication (2FA) process to reduce the risk of unauthorised people accessing personal information stored in your portal account.
2FA requires a person to provide two verification methods one after the other to confirm that the person requesting access is who they are declared to be.
After 16 September 2019, you will be required to activate 2FA when you log into the portal.
You will be asked to provide either an email address or a mobile phone number. Once you have activated the verification process you will receive a code via your email or mobile phone. When you have typed this code into the box provided you will be able to access your registration details, your contact details and your renewal application form once it is available.
You do not need to enter a verification code when accessing or updating your professional learning.
You can read more about the two-factor authentication process on our website.
If you have any questions about this process please email us at info@trb.sa.edu.au.
The Gawler and Barossa TRT Scheme teachers are highly engaged and active professionals who meet regularly throughout the year.
The group is always looking for professional learning experiences relevant to TRTs and earlier this year TRB Board member, Joanne Hill met with the group to discuss ways the TRB can support them with their professional development.
The group identified a few key areas of interest including:
- how to access support to transition to full registration
- classroom management
- how to maintain a healthy work-life balance
If you are a TRT from another area or in another scheme and you would like to be involved in creating a similar professional learning event for your area please email the above address.
Last week, Jenny and Marilyn from the Professional Standards team, together with the Department for Education, presented an evaluator workshop at the Stretton Centre in Munno Para.
The workshop provided information on how to assist provisionally registered teachers to transition to full registration.
The workshop was attended by 43 principals, deputies, evaluators, mentors and lead teachers.
If your local school partnership is interested in holding a similar workshop please contact us on the number below. The TRB is happy to present to groups of 40 or more.
If you would like to discuss transitioning to full registration give the Board a call on 8253 9735.

Want to learn more about children’s behavior? with Mark Le Messurier
Tuesday 8 October, Goodwood
Mark Le Messurier is a teacher, counsellor and coach to young people and their parents.
Mark works in schools and in private practice counselling, coaching and teaching children and teens he affectionately refers to as the "Tough Kids"; these are the kids who seemingly can't delay gratification, can't listen and filter out distractions, process new information, remember it, plan, persist, adapt to change, keep track of time and self-regulate emotion and behaviour. Many of the young individuals he works with display clusters of troubling behaviours that attract formal identification; Giftedness, Immaturity, Global Development Delay, Oppositional behaviours, Specific Learning Difficulties, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Attention Deficit Disorder, Dyslexia, Language Disorder, Auditory Processing Disorder and Autism Spectrum Disorder.
Mark's work focuses on strengthening their success through mentorship and targeted interventions. He sees the encouragement of stronger, trusting relationships between parents, teachers and students as key.
TOPIC 1
The 4-goals of ‘mis’behaviour – savvy ways to re-interpret, re-classify and work with tricky student behaviour; through a positive behavioural support lens.
TOPIC 2
