Renewing teachers - new proof of identity and working with children check requirements
A reminder to all teachers renewing this year; for the first time you will be required to provide proof of your identity with your renewal application.
- current Australian passport (not expired)
- ImmiCard
- current Australian driver’s licence, learner permit or provisional licence issued by a state or territory
- an international current passport with a valid entry stamp or visa
- current proof of age or photo identity card issued by an Australian government agency
- current shooter or firearm licence (not minor or junior permit or licence).
You must photocopy your chosen document on to the Linkage Verification form and then take this with the original document to an authorised witness to have it verified. Once you have done this, you must upload the form to your application on the portal.
You will be required to provide this proof of identity every ten years from the initial date of providing your proof of identity.

Working with Children Check
On 1 July 2019, a Working with Children Check (WWCC) became a mandatory requirement for anyone in South Australia who works with children. You will need to apply for a WWCC through the Central Assessment Unit of the Department of Human Services before renewing your registration.
