Welcome to the September 2025 Edition of Registration Buzz!

Spring is in the air, and with it comes fresh updates from the Teachers Registration Board.

This edition is full of important news, helpful reminders, and exciting opportunities for South Australian teachers, including information about Renewal of Registration,

teacher awards, the ATWD Survey, as well as professional development opportunities and more.

Leadership Update
Some staffing changes have occurred at the Board, with the Registrar, Ms Leonie Paulson, resigning. Stepping into the (acting) role is Mr Joseph Nguyen, who brings a wealth of experience and energy. The Board has commenced a recruitment process, and it is expected that this critical role will be filled by the end of the year.

We’re also proud to honour the dedication and achievements of South Australian educators through two special awards:

• TRB Service Award – Recognising teachers with 20+ years of service. Nominate yourself or a colleague who’s made a lasting impact.
• Minister’s Graduate Achievement Prize – Celebrating a pre-service teacher who has overcome significant challenges during their studies.

Soon the annual registration renewal period will open on the 3rd October for teachers whose registration is due to expire in January 2026. As we approach the renewal period, we appreciate it is a busy time of year for all teachers, and we aim to make the renewal process as easy as possible. If you’re unsure whether you need to renew, you can check your status on your teacher portal.
