Over March and April the Teachers Registration Board continued its consultation regarding the development of its proposed Code of Conduct.

Teachers, school leadership, employer groups, and community members attended a series of focus groups. These sessions allowed participants to further explore issues that were raised in previous rounds of consultation. Issues discussed included teaching learners of different ages, implications of working as a teacher in different locations, and the intersection of teachers’ professional and private lives. The conversation at these sessions was lively, and productive.

This input will assist the Board in considering the development of a draft Code. Further rounds of consultation will be taking place later in the year.
